The EOSC Node METROFOOD-RI acts as a thematic entry point for validated, interoperable food-related data and services.
It integrates quality-controlled laboratory analytical data, metadata catalogues, repositories and workflows connecting food research with health, environment, agriculture and sustainability domains.
Building on achievements from the EOSC Beyond, EOSC Mesh and EOSC EDEN projects, the METROFOOD-RI EOSC Node demonstrates production-level readiness, providing structured access to harmonised and policy-relevant food data in support of reproducible, cross-disciplinary research.
Key objective: To formalise METROFOOD-RI as a thematic EOSC Node for food, nutrition and agrifood research, providing trusted access to harmonised, quality-controlled and policy-relevant food data and services.
Science areas: Health and food, food science, nutrition, agrifood research, metrology, food safety, food composition, food contaminants, and environmental sustainability.
SCIENTIFIC IMPACT
METROFOOD-RI enables traceable, quality-assured food and nutrition data for reproducible science, policy support and cross-disciplinary research linking food, health, agriculture and environmental domains.
FAIR data
The EOSC Node METROFOOD-RI federates FAIR food and nutrition research data, including quality-controlled food composition and analytical datasets and metadata catalogues, along with FAIR-compliant digital services, workflows and data quality tools.
