The EOSC Academy serves as an initiative for capacity building, knowledge exchange, and mutual learning within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) ecosystem.

It consolidates and amplifies knowledge emerging from EOSC-related projects, Task Forces, Opportunity Area Expert Groups, national and institutional initiatives, and other contributions from experts to enhance and support the EOSC Federation, including the enrolment of Nodes. The primary purpose of the Academy is to accelerate the development of the EOSC Federation by strengthening shared understanding and promoting the coherent implementation of the EOSC Federation model throughout the ecosystem.

Who is the Academy for?

The EOSC Academy engages all actors involved or interested in the EOSC Federation, acknowledging their diverse roles and perspectives in building and sustaining the EOSC ecosystem. It aims to provide learning opportunities and capacity-building support tailored to different stakeholder groups.

Discover the tracks

The Academy’s content is organized around two tracks, Building and operating EOSC Nodes and Participating in the EOSC Federation. These address key topics that reflect the journey organisations undertake when joining the EOSC Federation, from initial understanding through to operational participation.

Participating in the EOSC Federation
Building and Operating EOSC Nodes

This track addresses the needs of organisations establishing and running EOSC Nodes, covering the operational, technical, and organisational requirements for Node participation.

Course 4: Minimum Requirements for a Project Charter

Course overview

This course is designed for the EOSC Gravity project’s cascading grants beneficiaries, Node coordinators, consortium partners, technical leads, and policy officers who are preparing to join the EOSC Federation. It provides details, examples and tools to support the creation of the required Project Charter needed to apply for a Tripartite node enrolment call.

Course 5: Developing an Onboarding Services Policy

Course overview

What are the important elements that need to be considered, when designing and implementing EOSC onboarding policies? This practical course translates Federation requirements into actionable guidelines and workflows for publications, data, training material, and software. It also addresses other relevant important aspects such as technical integration, FAIR principles, and quality standards to ensure resources are discoverable and re-usable, and provides the expertise to align concrete onboarding practices with the EOSC Federation’s best practices.

Course 6: How to Onboard Services to EOSC Nodes

Course overview

This course provides an introduction to the operational remit of the EOSC Nodes. In particular, course participants can expect to gain a basic understanding of the onboarding policies of selected EOSC Nodes, and how Nodes support the visibility and discoverability of services within the broader Federation landscape.
