Today marks the release of the first in a series of short videos demonstrating how the EOSC Federation enables cross-disciplinary science.
The use case showcases a cross-Node collaboration that leverages the unique resources and infrastructure of three thematic and one national EOSC Node: Digital Twin of the Ocean, Life Sciences Connect, Data Terra, and the Polish EOSC Node.
The use case highlights the ocean’s critical role in mitigating climate change through biological sequestration of carbon, a process by which marine microorganisms capture atmospheric carbon dioxide and store it in the deep ocean for centuries.
Currently underrepresented in global climate models, this process is explored by integrating genomic, environmental, and modelling data within the unified, open, and interoperable framework provided by the EOSC Federation.
