Brussels — The European Commission has opened a public survey to gather input from stakeholders on the upcoming Charter of Access for Industrial Users to Research and Technology Infrastructures.
Building on the revised Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures, the new Charter will focus specifically on improving access for companies. Its goal is to make it easier for businesses, particularly SMEs, startups, and scaleups, to benefit from Europe’s world-class research and technology infrastructures. The survey will close on 10 December 2025 and the final Charter is expected to be presented in 2026.
The Charter aims to improve access to infrastructures through six proposed principles:
- Increased visibility and availability of services
- Transparency and quality of services
- Simplified contract and agreement procedures
- Safe intellectual property management
- Priority to companies in the EU
- Cooperation between infrastructures and access to data
