Good practice
Recherche Data Gouv supports research teams in making data FAIR—findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. It consists of a network of federated regional, thematic and disciplinary competence centres and a national data platform. The platform is a multidisciplinary repository that promotes research data sharing and the visibility of French research data. Recherche Data Gouv aspires to become an EOSC service in the future.
Problem addressed
The problem addressed by Recherche Data Gouv is the complexity of opening up research data, which stems from the need to align with European standards for trustworthy data repositories and to maintain interoperability. Additionally, there is a lack of competence, support and training in this field. Finally, the platform addresses the general need to harmonise practices and enhance the visibility of French research data internationally.
