OA6: Open Scholarly Communication

The primary aim of this Expert Group is to position the topic of Open Scholarly Communication within EOSC, and to develop peer review and quality assessment procedures that are mindful of the diversity of research outputs (I.e., not limited to traditional publications).

The group deals with organizational, strategic, and technical aspects of Diamond Open Access and its role within EOSC, in particular, with the role of scientific knowledge graphs and machine actionability of digital objects in open scholarly communication, along with opportunities and risks afforded by AI, exploring ways in which the Diamond Capacity Hub could source content. Further, the group will produce recommendations to make room for diverse OSC outputs and work towards improving the FAIRness of supplementary data files and understand the impact of standards/KPIs on OA usage.
