UNESCO Open Science Outlook 2

This in-person event will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, during the 2026 Global Conference of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD).

The launch of Open Science Outlook 2 marks an important milestone in advancing the implementation of the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science. It builds on Open Science Outlook 1 (2023) and is informed by the first monitoring cycle conducted with member states in 2025. The Open Science Outlook 2 presents a global landscape of open science implementation, highlighting progress, challenges, and emerging trends worldwide.

Participation in the Open Science Outlook 2 launch is open to all registered participants of the 2026 Global Conference of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD).
