Save the date for General Assembly #5, it will be an online event taking place on 28 - 29 November 2022 starting around 12:00 on the 28th and finishing around 12:00 on the 29th.
The final draft agenda, documents and more information are available on www.eosc.eu
The final event of PaNOSC aims to present the way forward for the major results achieved during the four years of the project. The project’s contributors will gather to discuss about the future and sustainability of the tools, software and services developed to make data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) at European Photon and Neutron (PaN) facilities, towards the implementation of a PaN Data Commons to further contribute to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
The event will also be an opportunity to collect feedback and expectations of PaN scientists on their view on the future of FAIR data.
Moreover, an overview of the policy issues related to the further implementation of the EOSC will also be addressed, by involving representatives of the EOSC and of research Infrastructures and PaN initiatives.
Other EOSC-related projects will be invited to share their best practices and lessons learnt from the experiences of their communities.
On 2 December 2022, the 6th Pomeranian Open Science Conference: Policies and Infrastructures for Open Science will take place. This year's edition of this nationwide scientific conference is designed to summarise the activities to date in developing policies and tools to support the opening up of scientific research results, including research data, and to discuss the directions for the development of such services.
The conference will also provide an opportunity to summarise the first year of activities of the Polish working group DSCC-IN PL, coordinated by the Gdansk University of Technology in cooperation with GO-FAIR.
In order to introduce Conference Participants to this year's topic, a workshop on the European Open Science Cloud/EOSC organised by the National Science Centre is scheduled for 1 December 2022, during which the idea of a common European space for research data will be presented, a meeting of the Polish EOSC-PL Working Group, which includes representatives of universities and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, members of the EOSC Association, and a meeting of the DSCC-PL Working Group - the first national initiative addressed to data stewards and all those who deal with research data management in their work. The conference is also preceded by a two-day seminar, co-organised by the PG Library and Elsevier, which will address issues such as rankings, scientific excellence and open science.
Recently, a range of new functionalities and resources have become available on the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) to support data intensive research, data discovery and more. There has been much discussion on the EOSC vision, but what is the actual added value for researchers and end users?
On 5-6 December 2022, EOSC Future and the INFRAEOSC-07 projects (C-SCALE, DICE, EGI-ACE, OpenAIRE Nexus, Reliance) are hosting an online showcase event for researchers. The thematic focus of this event will be 3 UN Sustainable Development Goals: Climate action (SDG 3), Industry, Innovation & infrastructure (SDG 9) and Good health & wellbeing (SDG 13).
Over 2 half-day webinars, a series of use cases, presented by real users, will show how EOSC digital assets, developed and provided by EOSC Future & the INFRAEOSC-07 projects, can help research communities throughout and beyond Europe do their work more effectively. The interactive and first-hand format of the event will show how research communities working to address global challenges can be leveraged by core EOSC services.

Key Outcomes & Lessons Learned from the Blue-Cloud Project in the Marine Domain
8 December 2022, The Residence Palace, Rue de la Loi, 155 · Wetstraat, 155, Brussels (Belgium)See on map
Join us in the final conference of the Blue-Cloud pilot project for an opportunity to learn about the main results, achievements and the road ahead of this key component of the EU “Future of Seas and Oceans Flagship Initiative”. Gain insight into the key conclusions stemming from this 3-year effort to build a “marine” thematic community within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and into the role it can play in evolving a thriving EU digital knowledge system in support of the EU Green Deal, Mission Ocean & the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
The e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG) organises two open workshops every year, each under the auspices of the corresponding EU presidency. During the last years, the e-IRG Workshops have been organised as virtual events due to the Covid-19 pandemic, now the e-IRG Workshop under Czech EU Presidency will be organized as a face-to-face event bringing together all e-IRG stakeholder in Prague. Still, remote participation will be possible. In both cases, registration is required (free of charge).
The Athena RC and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki organise on the 12th of December at the auditorium of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki the workshop “Open Science services and EOSC in Greece”. The workshop will bring together Open Science and EOSC actors in Greece, the members of the Hellenic Open Science Initiative, researchers, and project representatives to present and discuss results of EOSC-related projects and Open Science services developed in the country.
The workshop aims at:
Exchanging knowledge and experiences on how to better coordinate among all national actors who contribute to EOSC
Updating on new services that have been developed in the context of EOSC
Empowering the Greek research community with Open Science best practices, applicable in the European Research Area and the Horizon Europe.
The agenda includes presentations and demos on the above, as well as an open discussion among all participants.
The workshop is supported by the Hellenic Initiative for Open Science (HOSI), the European project RAISE (Research Analysis Identifier System) and the Greek OpenAIRE NOAD.
Please note that this event will be in Greek.
