The Croatian EOSC Node provides national research data, repositories, and services to the EOSC Federation, enhancing visibility and collaboration for Croatian research outputs.
It integrates national infrastructures including repositories, open access publishing platforms, compute resources, and research software environments.
The Node supports cross-border collaboration through federated services such as file sharing and computing, while aligning national systems with EOSC standards. It contributes large volumes of research outputs and promotes FAIR data practices, improving discoverability, reproducibility, and participation of Croatian researchers in the European research ecosystem.
Key objective: To integrate Croatian research infrastructures and outputs into the EOSC Federation, improving visibility, interoperability, cross-border collaboration and alignment of national services with EOSC requirements.
Science areas: All scientific disciplines, including Open Science, research data management, research software, cross-disciplinary research, advanced computing.
SCIENTIFIC IMPACT
The Croatian EOSC Node increases visibility and reuse of national research outputs while enabling cross-border collaboration and improving representation of research software in EOSC.
FAIR data
EOSC Node Croatia will federate the following FAIR data resources:
DABAR national repository infrastructure with 180+ repositories and research outputs.
HRČAK portal with 560+ open access scientific and professional journals.
The EFSS service PUH stores currently more than 780 TB of data from 287 research projects
Research software resources through OpenCode.hr.
Open metadata and access conditions / licences defined by repositories.
Scientific use cases
EFSS cross-node collaboration with Slovenian and SURF / Netherlands EOSC Nodes
Experimental data sharing generated by instrumental measurements such as microscopy
Research software contribution to EOSC Resource Catalogue through OpenCode.hr Gitlab platform
Service registry and monitoring alignment with EOSC Federation requirements
Research software catalogue proof of concept using OpenCode.hr
Exposure of DABAR and HRČAK outputs to EOSC
