The International Network of Open Science and Scholarship Communities (INOSC) consists of 50 Open Science Communities (OSCs) located in 27 countries across five continents. The OSCs are local, bottom-up initiatives that bring together researchers to learn how to make their workflows more open. INOSC engages community coordinators to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects and shape international policies focused on Open Science.

Problem addressed

Achieving cultural change in science requires that the majority of researchers implement Open Science practices. At the moment, many researchers lack the knowledge, skills, or motivation to do so. The OSCs directly support researchers to acquire the necessary expertise and know-how. By empowering its community-based members, INOSC accelerates the implementation of Open Science practices across domains and geographical locations.

Added value

Bringing together coordinators of OSCs to exchange knowledge, share experience, and inspire one another to advance Open Science practices.

Providing a collaborative platform for coordinators of OSCs to contribute to international and interdisciplinary projects.

Contributing insights and feedback to international research policies, infrastructures and services to help shape the global Open Science landscape.
