Three new Members and two new Observers join EOSC-A

ANTWERP – The EOSC Association welcomed three new Members and two new Observers to its membership base today. The five organisations were unanimously voted into the EOSC-A family during the Association’s 10th General Assembly.

The new additions from Belgium, Hungary, Lithuania, and Sweden include two universities (KTH and VU), a distributed research infrastructure (EPTRI), an association (Europlanet), and a service provider (Pro-M). This diversity reflects the relevance of EOSC-A across a wide range of organisation types and scientific domains. Profiles highlighting the newcomers’ portfolios are presented further below.

Since its official launch in summer 2020 with just four founding Members, EOSC-A has continuously expanded its reach. The Association brings together an impressive 255 organisations from across Europe, reflecting the increasing interest in Open Science and FAIR data. Out of these, 158 are Members and 97 Observers.

This technological and operational foundation remains a cornerstone of its services today. As Hungary’s exclusive governmental telecommunications service provider, Pro-M’s mission is to reliably operate and develop emergency communication infrastructure, as well as governmental and educational networks, using the highest quality, innovative technologies. Pro-M’s activities are built on the expertise and dedication of its employees, relying on feedback from their clients. Through its operations, Pro-M supports life-saving emergency services, the efficient functioning of public administration, and the digital advancement of educational institutions.

* Pro-M is the legal successor of the Governmental Agency for Information Technology Development (KIFU), which ceased operations at the end of 2024. Because of its dissolution, KIFU resigned from its membership in EOSC-A and Pro-M reapplied as its successor.
