BRUSSELS — The EOSC Association welcomed one new Member and two new Observers to its membership base today. The three organisations were unanimously admitted to the EOSC-A family during the Association’s 13th General Assembly.
The new additions include leading research-performing organisations: the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS ERIC), which has the status of a European Research Infrastructure Consortium and is headquartered in Italy, and two universities — Luleå University of Technology in Sweden and Tampere University Foundation in Finland. Profiles showcasing the new organisations and their activities are presented below.
Following these additions and membership status updates, EOSC-A now comprises 252 organisations, including 155 Members and 97 Observers.
New Member

European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS ERIC)
E-RIHS ERIC is the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science, supporting the study, interpretation, conservation, documentation, and management of cultural heritage. Officially established as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) on 28 March 2025, it offers access to cutting-edge laboratories, tools, and data, and provides training opportunities in heritage science.
New Observers

Luleå University of Technology (LTU)
Luleå University of Technology experiences rapid growth with world-leading expertise within several research areas. The scientific and artistic research and education are conducted in close collaboration with international, national and regional companies, the public sector and leading universities. Luleå University of Technology has an annual turnover of just over SEK 2.3 billion. The university has more than 1,800 employees and nearly 21,600 students.

Tampere University Foundation (TAU)
Tampere University is one of the most multidisciplinary universities in Finland. Almost all internationally recognised fields of study are represented at the university, which brings together research and education in technology, health and society.
