BRUSSELS — The EOSC Association (EOSC-A) and its Chief Technology Officer, René Buch, have mutually agreed to end their collaboration due to the inability to achieve the association’s original technical goals within the current governance structure of the co-programmed Horizon Europe Partnership. EOSC-A issues the following statement:
In February 2022, René Buch took on the role as Chief Technology Officer of the EOSC Association with the aim of serving as the primary driver and catalyst for the delivery of the technical ambitions of the EOSC Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA), through the EOSC Association. Despite the positive developments and the intense discussions regarding the future evolution and operation of EOSC post-2027, the current governance of the co-programmed Horizon Europe Partnership precludes the realization of the original technical goals of the EOSC Association and René’s full potential as CTO. Therefore, the parties have mutually agreed to stop the collaboration since the EOSC Association is discontinuing the role of CTO at this point in time. We would like to thank René for all his contributions to the goals of the EOSC Association. EOSC-A Board |
