This workshop is the first of two events designed to bring together experts from diverse domains, including organizations, repositories (generalist/specialist), collections, and digital object types. Together, participants will aim to harmonize curation practices and address the challenges of ensuring that data remains FAIR over time.
Travel Support Available: travel support will be offered for selected participants. Participants will be selected based on criteria to ensure a balanced and diverse representation. This includes expertise in research data curation and long-term preservation, as well as coverage across disciplines, organization types, and digital object types.

Curation is the cornerstone of long-term digital preservation, yet it remains a challenge for many institutions. By establishing a European Expert Curation Network, the project aims to:
This initiative is part of the EOSC EDEN project, which will develop and establish a framework to identify what data are candidates for long-term preservation based on use, benefit, and quality and a model for re-appraisal points along data lifecycle and test usability. EOSC EDEN will identify practices to support the creation of curation, long-term preservation, and access strategies in Europe. In collaboration with our sister project FIDELIS, we will work to facilitate the sustainable embedding of the European Expert Curation Network to ensure its long-term growth after the conclusion of the project.
