The Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI), together with the Open and Universal Science (OPUS) project, Science Europe, Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) and the UNESCO Chair on Science and Innovation Policies (SNSPA), organises the international Conference Rethinking Research Assessment, which will take place in Bucharest, Romania, on 14 November 2024.
The event aims to address the pressing need for innovation in research assessment, and to approach the latter topic from a three-dimensional perspective – policies for research assessment, researchers on research assessment and last but not least, organisations’ perspectives on research assessment.
Globally, the landscape of research assessment is undergoing significant transformations, with an increasing number of organisations, both research funding and research performing, committing to principles that prioritise quality, transparency, and societal impact over traditional metrics, by adhering to initiatives such as CoARA, DORA and other.
