The Open Access and Open Science Conference, which has been held regularly since 2011, was hosted by İstinye University and in cooperation with İzmir Institute of Technology (İYTE), TÜBİTAK and Hacettepe University, with the theme of “Openness for Climate Justice”, which is the main theme of International Open Access Week this year, on October 20. It will be held in Istanbul in 2022 .
This year’s theme provides an opportunity to foster connection and collaboration among the international open (access) community, take action and raise awareness about how openness enables climate justice. Sharing information is a human right. Fighting the climate crisis requires rapid information exchange across geographic, economic and interdisciplinary boundaries.
At the Open Access and Open Science Conference, current topics such as open access on the climate axis, open science, open data and research data, Diamond Open Access, which is seen as a solution for sustainable open science, transformation in publishing and new metrics used in research evaluation, will be discussed. emphasis will be placed.
The aim of the conference is to support the compatibility of open science policies, strategies, legislation, infrastructure and services in Turkey with the European Union (EU), to share information about the studies carried out and targeted to be carried out in our country and to evaluate the points reached with all stakeholders.
