The Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration (NeIC) facilitates the development of high-quality solutions in areas of joint Nordic interest. Its activities aim to improve e-infrastructure and enable better research in the Nordic-Baltic region. NeIC supports this by funding and managing projects and activities that develop solutions and platforms in fields such as high-performance computing, quantum technologies, health data, public administration, and climate research.

Problem addressed

Through 25 projects, NeIC has supported the development of both general and research-specific e-infrastructures while strengthening organisational competencies. These efforts have delivered value to the participating organisations and the Nordic region as a whole. The projects have addressed shared Nordic challenges, including cross-border sharing of sensitive health data and access to computational resources. In addition, 160 data stewards have received FAIR data management training sponsored by NeIC.

Added value

Enabling new Nordic collaborations and increasing readiness for international engagement through connections with broader European initiatives.

Serving as a testing ground for transnational partnerships, helping to transform regional efforts into cross-border initiatives and boosting competitiveness.

Increasing participating organisations’ competencies through knowledge sharing, staff training, and external expertise.
