Software Heritage
Software Heritage is an open archive for software source code. It is a multi-stakeholder, not-for-profit initiative launched in 2016 by Inria and supported by UNESCO.
It collects and preserves softwares in source code form, since software embodies the technical and scientific knowledge, humanity cannot afford the risk of losing it.
Software is a precious part of our cultural heritage. By making accessible and sharing all the softwares collected, we can guarantee their preservation in the very long term.
