The EOSC Association Task Forces, together with the EOSC Opportunity Area Expert Groups, represent the EOSC brain pool. Together, these groups include hundreds of expert volunteers collectively working to develop key areas in the implementation of EOSC.
The EOSC-A Task Forces liaise with the EOSC-related Horizon Europe projects and the EOSC Opportunity Area Expert Groups to offer input and recommendations on targeted areas of EOSC’s development. The Task Forces also help to identify strategic gaps and areas for investment to input to the EOSC Partnership’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, the SRIA.
The next generation of EOSC-A Task Forces
With the mandates of the current EOSC-A Task Forces coming to an end in 2026, the Board of Directors has endorsed a renewed Task Force structure for 2027-2028. The new configuration takes into account the evolving needs of EOSC and the EOSC Federation, as well as priorities emerging from the forthcoming EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA 2.0). The renewed structure with five Task Forces is intended to provide a more coherent framework for expertise and collaboration across the EOSC community, ensuring that the Task Forces remain focused on the priorities of EOSC’s next phase.
A call for members of the EOSC-A Task Force for the 2027-2028 period is now open. Applications must be submitted by 30 September 2026 (23:59 CEST). Strategic reorganisation of the Task Forces 2024-2026
Following the completion of the two-year mandate of the original EOSC-A Task Forces in December 2023, a comprehensive assessment was undertaken by the EOSC-A Board of Directors in interaction with the Task Forces.
The Board not only determined the continuation, suspension, or reconfiguration of existing TFs, but also reached a consensus on the creation of new TFs.
A call for Task Force members was open from 21 March to 21 April 2024, and attracted 206 applications from 22 countries. The new Task Forces kicked off their activities in June and July 2024.

In 2021, an open call was held to define the membership of the Task Forces, which resulted in several hundred members of the community offering their expertise as volunteers to shape the future direction of EOSC.
