This Expert Group deals with issues related to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) digital objects* in the context of the EOSC Federation.
It explores measures of data quality, FAIR metrics and FAIR assessment, and aims to clarify the differences between these concepts – “FAIR data” does not imply that digital objects are of good quality. Improving data quality is more challenging than achieving FAIRness, since the latter merely requires that metadata be available for the data to be tested by FAIR assessment tools. OA Expert Group 3 provides a forum for streamlining the work of several INFRAEOSC projects on these topics.
