INAF promotes, realizes and coordinates, also within the framework of European Union programs and international organizations, research activities in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics, in collaboration with universities and with other public and private entities. It designs and develops innovative technologies and instrumentation for the study and exploration of the Cosmos. It favours the dissemination of scientific culture at the Society.
