Case study

PLGrid is a unique infrastructure environment connecting world-class IT resources and specialised competences, built to support the research and development sector in Poland. It facilitates the resolution of critical research problems, provides tools to accelerate the development of innovative technologies, and offers comprehensive support that begins with the selection of appropriate IT tools and extends to their optimal use.

Problem addressed

PLGrid addresses the need for a robust and future-proof e-infrastructure to enhance Poland’s scientific and economic innovation capabilities. By strengthening collaboration between the research and business sectors, this project helps to bridge gaps in research and development capacity, providing resources that meet the evolving demands of Polish society and support the country’s scientific and economic growth.

Added value

Professional delivery of e-Infrastructure services, such as data storage, HPC resources, cloud infrastructure and data preservation, in line with FAIR principles.

Availability of the domain-specific services built on top of the infrastructural resources. All services are integrated with the PLGrid Core Infrastructure.

Connection to data repositories with guidance on good research data management practices across the data lifecycle of the infrastructure.
