Strategic meeting of the EOSC-PL Network on the development of the EOSC Federation

On 16 January 2026, representatives of the EOSC-PL Network, bringing together over 30 organisations, will meet at the National Science Centre Poland (NCN) headquarters in Kraków for a high-level event dedicated to the future of the EOSC Federation and the presentation of the Polish EOSC Node.
The Polish EOSC Node was created through the collaboration of NCN, Cyfronet AGH, Gdańsk University of Technology, the University of Warsaw, and the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and it stands among the first 14 EOSC Nodes established in the first wave of the EOSC Federation Build-up phase. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Poland’s scientific and e-infrastructure landscape.
During the event, participants will learn about the evolution of the Polish EOSC Node, as well as the mechanisms for joining it and onboarding resources. The agenda includes an overview of procedures for establishing new thematic or e-infrastructure nodes, along with opportunities to obtain preparatory and interproject funding through the EOSC Gravity Cascading Grant mechanism. The event will also promote the call for evaluators for the second EOSC Federation build-up phase and the EOSC Gravity Cascading Grants. In addition, participants will explore demonstrations of the EOSC-PL Discovery Hub and the EOSC EU Node, including practical applications and a cross-node research use cases.
The meeting will run from 12:00 to 16:00 at NCN’s headquarters. After the formal programme, guests are invited to an informal networking session, offering an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss plans, and strengthen collaboration within the Polish EOSC ecosystem.
This event represents an important step in enhancing the national engagement in the EOSC Federation in Poland.
