OpenBioMaps is an opensource, self-hosted biological data management platform developed for national parks and research laboratories to collect and manage biodiversity monitoring data. It is designed to support the day-to-day work of data managers while facilitating the free flow, and increased use, of data. It also aims to support the interconnection of workflows between different data management and analysis systems.
Problem addressed
OpenBioMaps addresses the challenge of efficient biological data management for national parks and research laboratories by providing a free, open source platform. Its integration into EOSC aims to streamline nature conservation data collection by enabling multiple users to perform tasks via cloud services in support of biodiversity research and conservation efforts across Europe.
