The 7th meeting of the EOSC Federation Build-up Group will take place on 1-2 October 2025 in Helsinki, Finland. Hosted at CSC – IT Center for Science, the meeting will be held in-person only.
During the meeting, scientific use cases, set to be monitored through November 2025, will be presented and discussed. The meeting will also serve as a working platform to prepare these use cases for presentation to the broader EOSC community at the EOSC Symposium 2025 in Brussels.
A detailed agenda for the two full-day meeting will be shared after the summer break, following its approval at the group’s sixth meeting at the end of August.
Registration
Registration for the two full-day meeting is now open and will close on Sunday, 21 September 2025 (23:59 CEST)! Participation is limited to members of the EOSC Federation Build-up Group. Invited participants have received a password to access the registration page.
Travel arrangements
Participants are responsible for booking and covering the costs of their travel and accommodation.
The organisers have compiled a list of recommended hotels within walking distance of the Central Railway Station and the metro. These hotels offer discounted rates for participants in the Build-up Group meeting. All of the details can be found in this document.
Venue
CSC is located a 10-minute metro ride from central Helsinki in the neighbouring city of Espoo. CSC offices are in the Life Science Centre, around 50 metres away from the Keilaniemi metro station.

From Helsinki Airport (HEL) to the City Center
Train
- The fastest way to central Helsinki is the train. In the arrivals hall, follow the terminal signs for the train station. The train terminates at the Central Railway Station (Rautatieasema) and the journey takes approximately 35-38 minutes.
- You can purchase a ticket at a station ticket machine, by using the HSL mobile app, or by tapping a card on one of the card readers. You will need to select an ABC travel zone ticket. (HSL app)
Bus
- You can also take the bus to central Helsinki. First, follow the terminal signs for buses. At the bus station, the line 600 takes you to the Central Railway Station (Rautatieasema). The bus will take around 45 minutes.
- You can purchase a ticket at a station ticket machine, by using the HSL mobile app, or by tapping a card on the card reader when onboarding the bus. You will need to select an ABC travel zone ticket. (HSL app)
Taxi
- Taxis are widely available at Helsinki Airport. There is a fixed rate to the city centre at 42€. Taxis accept cards and give receipts. A taxi ride to the centre will take around 25-30 minutes.
- You can also use Uber or Bolt, which usually offer a lower rate – if you use one of these, follow the app instructions to locate the pick-up point. These services issue receipts automatically in their apps.
From the City Center to CSC
Metro
- You can take the metro from any station in the city centre to Keilaniemi station. This is in the direction of Tapiola or Kivenlahti (last stops on the line). At Keilaniemi station, follow the signs to Exit G to Keilaranta. The Life Science Centre is across the street from Exit G, and the closest entrance is at Keilaranta 18 (at the end of the tram platform). A steps-free entrance is at Keilaranta 14.
- Once inside the Life Science Centre, follow the signs for the Auditorium.
- Metro tickets can be purchased at the machines at the station, on the HSL mobile app, or you can tap your card on a card reader when entering the metro, after selecting the AB travel zone. (HSL app)
Taxi
- Taxis are widely available in central Helsinki. You can also use Uber or Bolt, which issue receipts automatically in their apps. A taxi ride to CSC will take around 20 minutes.
- Please ask to be dropped off at the Main Entrance of the Life Science Centre, at Keilaranta 14.
From Helsinki Airport to CSC
Train + Metro
- Take the train from Helsinki Airport to the Central Railway Station (Rautatieasema). Here follow the orange M signs for the metro station located beneath the train station. Take the metro to Keilaniemi – you can use the same ticket you used on the train, as this is valid for 90 minutes.
Taxi
- Taxis are widely available at Helsinki Airport. Taxis accept cards and give receipts. A taxi ride to the Life Science Centre will take around 25-30 minutes.

Explore Helsinki
Helsinki sits on the southern coast of Finland and is known for its Art Nouveau architecture and beautiful archipelago. Some top sites to visit include:
