Use case
The iiiUC Training programme (Formações iiiUC) at the University of Coimbra raises awareness of the importance of Open Science and facilitates institutional commitment to universal Open Science practices. It promotes best practices in data management, open access, and public engagement through its repository, workshops, and outreach initiatives. Additionally, it supports Open Science by providing resources, training, and policies aligned with European and national recommendations.
Problem addressed
The 2019 Portuguese Science Law encourages Open Science practices through digital platforms to enable broad knowledge sharing. The University of Coimbra supports this objective by organising trainings and workshops to raise awareness and promote its initiatives. The efforts of the iiiUC Training programme align with the law’s goals, aiming to leverage scientific knowledge for societal benefit and strengthen Portugal’s commitment to Open Science principles.
