Polish Open Science Conference 2024

The Polish Open Science Conference is an event in Poland devoted to issues related to various aspects of Open Science, bringing together all stakeholders related to the collection, sharing and management of research data, creation of repositories and scientific infrastructures, development of initiatives related to EOSC, sharing publications, articles and monographs in Open Access, as well as issues related to openness in the context of scientific evaluation. It is an event created by and for the Open Science community and the only one that invites researchers, scientific communities, librarians, data stewards, creators of scientific infrastructure, tool suppliers, IT specialists, publishers, and various types of organisations to discuss and exchange experiences.

In the formula of scientific and professional discussion, the conference is a platform shaping the Open Science environment in Poland, showing experiences, trends, and challenges facing Open Science initiatives worldwide, in the region and in Poland.

The conference draws on the tradition of the Pomeranian Open Science Conference, six editions of which were held in 2017-2022.

The conference will be held in English and in Polish.

Call for abstracts

We invite you to submit proposals for presentations (15-20 minutes), announcements (5 minutes), and posters that will be presented during conference sessions. The main theme of this year’s conference is data in the service of science and society.

The planned sessions and, therefore, presentations will cover the following topics:

• Data management in research projects
• Data analysis and services supporting the scientific process
• Open Science Infrastructure
• Research data repositories
• EOSC – tools and services
• Open Science Policy
• Data Stewardship – education and career paths of RDM specialists
• The role of Open Science in the evaluation of science and scientific institutions
• Open public data
• Open monographs
• Open Access publishing

Participation fees:

Conference participants can choose from the following forms of participation (the fees provided are gross amounts):

• PLN 350 – basic ticket – covering all days of the conference: networking evening on April 9th, 2024; sessions on April 10-11, 2024; Coffee breaks, lunches; meetings and workshops on April 12th, 2024 (according to separate registration or invitation),
• PLN 490 – extended ticket – covering all days of the conference: networking evening on April 9th, 2024; sessions on April 10-11, 2024; coffee breaks, lunches, and dinner on April 11th 2024; meetings and workshops on April 12th, 2024 (according to separate registration or invitation).
• PLN 200 – one-day ticket – sessions on April 10, 2024 or April 11, 2024, meetings and workshops on April 12th (according to separate registration or invitation); coffee breaks and lunch on the day of ticket validity.

Payment details will be provided to registered participants

Additionally, participants can book a study tour after the conference on April 12. Details and  the information about the fee will be published later and will depend on the number of willing participants.

The study tour fee can be added to your participation invoice upon request.
