EOSC Association appoints Secretary General

We are delighted to announce Ute Gunsenheimer as the designated Secretary General of the EOSC Association. Ute brings a wealth of knowledge from liaising with Member States and other stakeholders in her former role as Head of External Relations & EU Projects at the European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS).


Ute has made a career in business development and project management of EU-funded activities. In her role at ESS she was heavily involved in the ERIC Forum and actively contributed to the development of the EOSC Multi-Annual Roadmap. Ute is a very passionate and dynamic individual with strong organisational skills. We look forward to having her energy and enthusiasm drive EOSC to the next stage.


On accepting the position Ute said:


“I am honoured to be the designated Secretary General of the EOSC Association and look forward to working with all our members on turning the exciting vision of the European Open Science Cloud into reality. The up-coming signing of the Horizon Europe Partnership Agreement will be an important milestone for our community.”


Ute begins 1st June 2021 working within the EOSC Secretariat project for the initial months while starting up the EOSC Association where she is expected to formally take on the role of Secretary General starting 1st November 2021. We are grateful to the project and the European Commission for enabling the recruitment process.


Further posts will be advertised in the coming months, including a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and policy officers / administrative staff.
