CESNET was established in 1996 by public universities and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic for the purpose of the operation and development of the e-infrastructure CESNET and realization of associated research in IT leading to the development of capacities and services of this research infrastructure. Since 2020, CESNET has been coordinating the development and operation of Czech national e-infrastructure e-INFRA CZ.
