The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) has been Spain’s national supercomputing facility since 2005. Its mission is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC was a pioneer in combining HPC service provision, and R&D into both computer and computational science under one roof. The centre currently has a staff of over 700 from 41 countries and it houses MareNostrum, who’s fifth edition will be a EuroHPC pre-Exascale computer.
