The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology cordially invites you to an open lecture, which will be given by Prof. Karel Luyben, Rector Emeritus of Delft University of Technology, President of the European Open Science Cloud Association (EOSC).

The subject of the presentation will be Open Science and issues related to digital resources, which enable researchers to conduct research between disciplines in a safe environment.

Prof. Karel Luyben served as Rector of Delft University of Technology in 2010-2018 and was previously Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University for nearly 12 years.

Currently, Prof Luyben works mainly in the field of Open Science. Until 2023, he was the National Coordinator for Open Science in the Netherlands. He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dutch Techcenter for Life Sciences for ten years and has been involved in the Open Science Task Forces CESAER and EUA since 2020 and has been President of the European Open Science Cloud Association (EOSC-a) since 2021.

The EOSC aims to provide European researchers with the necessary digital resources to conduct research within and across disciplines and borders in accordance with fair data and open science, in a trustworthy and secure environment run by scientific communities.

The Lecture will take place on NOVEMBER 22 at 2:00 pm in the CITT Hall at 7, Banacha Street in Gliwice, and will also be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Silesian University of Technology at the link:
