The sessions will investigate the role of PIDs and data curatorship in the emerging EOSC Federation by facilitating development of the web of FAIR data and related items.
It will focus on adoption of PIDs and associated technologies to improve findability and interoperability of digital objects and services available through thematic, national and regional nodes. Resources for improving the quality of PID implementation: Compliance Assessment Toolkit and the PID Knowledge Base, EOSC and National or Institutional PID Policies
Approach
Through sessions containing presentations, panel discussions and interactive workshops, the programme covers a broad scale of topics and challenges in the PID role in EOSC Federation, quality assurance and adoption of PID technologies, led by projects FAIRCORE4EOSC, FAIR-IMPACT and RAISE and EOSC-A Task Force Long-Term Data Retention. RDA liasons warrant a global context.
Objectives
Identify benefits of PIDs and data curatorship for long-term reliability and sustainability of EOSC Federation.
Identify challenges and opportunities when adopting PIDs and associated technologies by the nodes in EOSC Federation.
A discussion on the current state of the PID policy status
