Case study
The Digital Scholarship Centre is the University of Oslo’s most prominent initiative in support of FAIR principles and Open Science. Its purpose is to provide education and services to students and researchers in Open Science, digital skills, and FAIR data management. The Centre gathers and highlights digital resources to enhance research activities, and coordinates multiple networks and community initiatives.
Problem addressed
Although Open Science is the standard, many researchers, particularly early-career researchers, are unsure how to integrate these principles into their work. The Digital Scholarship Centre provides access to the tools, training, and education needed to conduct research in alignment with Open Science principles. The Centre also activecasely participates in projects that offer support and resources for researchers.
Added value
Promoting the widespread adoption of Open Science practices at the University of Oslo by providing guidance and resources.
Improving competencies in the effective use of digital tools and methods to advance scholarly work across disciplines.
Building and sustaining a community of practice and a collaborative network that fosters continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and engagement.
