Execution Framework – Deployment Service (EOSC Orchestration and Deployment)

Q3 2025
  • User / Resource provider environments
  • Result description

The Deployment Service, one of two parts of the EOSC Execution Framework (the other one is the enhanced EOSC Interoperability Framework), provides an extensible suite of composability-based applications to enhance the deployment and accessibility of services in the EOSC ecosystem.  The Deployment Service facilitates the automated, on-the-fly-deployment of other services in an infrastructure, enabling end users to create reproducible computational environments that can be discovered and orchestrated.

    Problem addressed

EOSC Beyond aims to advance Open Science by providing new EOSC Core capabilities, allowing scientific applications to find, compose and access multiple Open Science resources and offer them as integrated capabilities to researchers. The vision is to introduce a new class of deployable service in EOSC for users to perform computation, data analysis, etc.

    Who can use the result

End users as well as providers; the Deployment Service will enable the latter to make their services deployable for end users.

    Timeline

    First release planned for M18 (September 2025), final release planned for M36 (March 2027) - Design of the EOSC Execution Framework (T10.2), M1-M12 (April 2024-March 2025); Estimate Q4 2024 EOSC Deployment Service (T13.3): First Release, M7-M18 (October 2024-September 2025); Estimate Q3 2025 EOSC Deployment Service (T14.3), M19-M36 (April 2025-March 2027); Estimate Q1 2027
