Research Assessment Training by GraspOS

Q4 2025
  • Skills, training, rewards, recognition
  • Result description

The training activities in the GraspOS project are focused on enhancing expertise in research assessment and the use of indicators at both individual and institutional levels. The main goal is to empower individuals involved in research assessment with the tools and insights needed to improve research practices aligned with open science principles.

    Problem addressed

The research assessment ecosystem currently lacks consistent and accessible guidance on integrating open science principles and responsible research assessment (RRA) practices. Stakeholders—such as researchers, research performing organisations (RPOs), and research funding organisations (RFOs)—struggle to adopt open science-aligned indicators and methodologies due to fragmented resources and a lack of practical, targeted training.
GraspOS responds to these needs by providing accessible and flexible training materials, including interactive courses, tutorials, and feedback channels. These resources support users in understanding and shaping new tools and approaches in research assessment.

    Who can use the result

The training materials are designed following the FAIR principles and are openly accessible so as to facilitate broad reuse by individuals and institutions involved in research, research assessment, and policy-making.

    Timeline

A comprehensive learning resource gathering past GraspOS training will be released on the OpenPlato learning platform by the end of 2025.

    How to use the result

All training webinars and materials developed are available on the GraspOS website, including session recordings, presentations, and related resources. A final, structured course will be launched on the OpenPlato platform, offering asynchronous, self-paced learning. This course will bring together all training content and provide interactive modules, tool overviews, and practice-based guidance for different stakeholders. Stay tuned for the upcoming release of the OpenPlato course, designed to support both individual and institutional learning goals.
