SUMMARY:Towards a Swiss EOSC Node: White Paper Presentation and Outlook on the EOSC Candidate Node Switzerland
DESCRIPTION:During the event\, the White Paper on a Swiss EOSC Node\, developed in the context of a temporary SERI Working Group together with key Swiss stakeholders in the field of Open Science and research data infrastructures will be presented. \nAs the international research landscape is undergoing rapid transformation towards federated\, interoperable\, and secure data-sharing ecosystems\, the White Paper aims to inform and enrich the national discussion on how Switzerland can position itself in relation to evolving international data-sharing initiatives\, and to support strategic preparation for future engagement—particularly in the context of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Federation. \nAt the same time\, a Swiss proposal submitted under the second EOSC Federation wave call was positively evaluated earlier this year. Switzerland was therefore formally designated as an EOSC Candidate Node in May 2026. \nIn this context\, Prof. Dr Thomas Schulthess (ETH Zurich\, Director of the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre\, CSCS) will present the current status and outlook of the Swiss EOSC Candidate Node.
