SUMMARY:EURAMET Open Consultation on Metrology for Digital Transformation
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, 9 November 2021\, 14:00 – 16:00 CET \nIndustry\, health\, climate\, society – in all areas\, digital transformation is changing the way we live and work. Digital transformation cannot happen without reliable digital data. \nReliable measurements\, producing data for digital systems\, continue to be essential for innovation\, productivity\, and evidence-based decision making. Metrology fosters the development of tools ensuring that measured and processed data in digital systems is accurate and reliable – underpinning the value of data and data products for the end user. \nIn this open consultation EURAMET\, the European Association of National Metrology Institutes\, invites stakeholders to share their vision on digital transformation and related measurement science needs. These stakeholder needs will help guide the development of the 2022 call “Metrology support for Digital Transformation” within the proposed European Partnership on Metrology. \nSpeakers include representatives from EFFRA and the Made in Europe Partnership\, ADRA and the AI\, Data\, and Robotics Partnership\, the European Open Science Cloud and the International Data Spaces Association. \nEOSC Association President Karel Luyben and EOSC Association Director Sarah Jones will represent the EOSC Association at the event. \nRegistration\nTo take part\, and help shape Europe’s digital metrology agenda\, please register here >> \nThe event aims to: \n\nbring together stakeholders from industry & science and other interested parties and\nassess the major needs of the European industry & society in terms of metrology for digital transformation\, that might be addressed by the EURAMET community and within the proposed European Partnership on Metrology;\n\nDiscussion topics will include: \n\nThe role of data quality for industry and science\nSensor networks in industry and elsewhere\nQuality of and confidence in AI\n\nThe event will conclude with a panel discussion with the invited speakers. \nA preliminary agenda will be available shortly. \nPlease visit the official website for more information

SUMMARY:Establishing a Knowledge Exchange Space at the OntoCommons Global Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Industry 5.0 aims to support the transformation of manufacturing sites into more digital and environmentally friendly solutions and industrial processes. This new technology supports the long-term strategy for the European industrial future that aims to have better data quality\, close connection of scientific and research infrastructures and cooperation with industrial players that can contribute to an efficient economic and societal framework. \nThe OntoCommons project plays a relevant role in this context as it addresses the need of strengthen the interoperability of industrial solutions through the establishment of common semantic basis in different domains (e.g. materials and manufacturing) that supports the improvements of digital interactions\, collaborations\, co-innovation\, re-use and valorisation of data. \nIn order to enrich the collaboration in this area\, the OntoCommons consortium is organising its first Global Workshop with external experts and initiatives. The event offers a platform for all stakeholders to interact and exchange information and updates\, and contributions to the content of the OntoCommons Roadmap (policy recommendations towards data sharing in the European Single Market). \nThe workshop combines open\, topic-based discussions in organised groups with custom-designed engagement of stakeholders through low-level prototyping of novel use cases and emerging scenarios. \nParticipants can join plenary talks\, impulse talks\, moderated sessions and learn more about the main objectives of the project\, the latest studies in the ontology and industrial fields\, while interacting with the project members and experts in the area. \nThe EOSC Association at the 1st OntoCommons Global Workshop\nEOSC Association President Karel Luyben is taking part in a session on Establishing a Knowledge Exchange Space on 3 November 2021 at 11:45 CET\, chaired by Yann Le Franc (e-Science Data Factory)\, together with Florina Piroi (TU Wien)\, Barbara Magagna (GO FAIR)\, and Hilary Hanahoe (RDA). He is offering an overview of EOSC and participating in the panel discussion. \nProgramme and registration

SUMMARY:Open Science FAIR 2021
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 3rd Open Science FAIR Conference\, an international event for all topics related to Open Science\nOpen science (also referred to as open scholarship) is at a crossroads. Implementation and adoption are progressing\, with researchers\, research institutions\, funding agencies\, service providers and infrastructures all engaging at various levels. However\, different models are emerging which produce a seemingly fragmented ecosystem and achieve small steps on top of traditional scholarly communication system. In order to enable international and interdisciplinary research\, we need to ensure interoperability across communities and services while still maintaining our ability to support diversity of workflows and knowledge systems. \nOSFAIR2021 is organized as an emblematic initiative of OpenAIRE\, co-organized by key international initiatives in the area of Open Science: COAR\, EIFL\, Force11\, LA Referencia\, LIBER\, OPERAS\, Sparc\, Sparc Europe. \nOSFAIR2021 aims to bring together and empower open science communities and services; to identify common practices related to open science; to see what are the best synergies to deliver and operate services that work for many; and to bring experiences from all around the world and learn from each other. \nThe EOSC Association at the OSFAIR2021\nJoin us on 21 September from 9:30 to 11:00 CEST\, for a 90-minute workshop titled “The European Open Science Cloud – Priorities\, ideas\, and resources for the Implementation phase of EOSC”. \nThis highly interactive session will provide information on the vision and priorities of the Implementation Phase of the European Open Science Cloud. It will also gather information on new ideas and resources coming from the OS Fair participants). \nRegister now

SUMMARY:EOSC Symposium 2021
DESCRIPTION:Implementing an inclusive European Open Science Cloud\nThe European Open Science Cloud has finally entered its highly-anticipated implementation phase. The EOSC Symposium will provide a key engagement opportunity for the EOSC community. \nThe foundation of the EOSC Association in 2020 is a key element of the implementation phase (2021-2027). Building on the EOSC SRIA\, the Association will establish a number of Advisory Groups and Task Forces by June. These will focus on priority areas as we enter into the implementation phase. \nAt the same time\, a plethora of EU\, regionally and nationally funded research projects are carrying out activities\, and actually producing key exploitable results which can contribute to this new phase. \nThe Symposium also offers an inclusive platform for all stakeholders to share objectives\, visions\, activities and results in order to shape the future of the EOSC. \nThe Symposium is organised by the EOSCsecretariat.eu project as part of its support to the EOSC Governance. \nFull programme and information
