SUMMARY:BY-COVID Infectious Diseases Toolkit (IDTk) Contentathon
DESCRIPTION:Date and time of the event: Monday\, 13 March 13 2023\, 11:30 AM – Wednesday\, March 15\, 2023\, 2:00 PM CET \nLocation: Monasterium PoortAckere\, 56 Oude Houtlei\, 9000 Gent\, Belgium \nThe Infectious Diseases Toolkit (IDTk) aims to offer guidelines and examples on managing\, analysing and visualising infectious diseases data. It has been designed to accommodate information from different domains\, to showcase different solutions\, and to expose national resources. It is being developed as part of the BY-COVID project. \nTo catalyse the addition of content to the toolkit\, we are organising a Contentathon involving both BY-COVID and external partners. We aim to bring together experts from various fields who have dealt with pandemics over the last few years\, and who are interested in capturing all the innovative solutions and best practices that have been used to tackle infectious diseases outbreaks. \nThe Contentathon will be three days of face-to-face interaction between the IDTk editors and content contributors. During the event\, a group of editors who are familiar with adding content to the IDTk will assist you in adding your own content. You can see here the members of the editorial board. \nWhile we encourage face-to-face participation\, we understand that not everyone is able to travel for the Contentathon. Therefore\, we will also offer short support sessions over Zoom for those who are unable to attend in person. \nThe goal of the event is to gather content that will help enhance infectious diseases outbreak preparedness. You will be acknowledged for your contribution at the bottom of the relevant page(s)\, and we hope also that you will get a chance to meet people who work in similar domains to yourself to exchange ideas. \nThe preliminary agenda can be found here \nDeadline for registration: 27th February 2023 \nwww.by-covid.org

SUMMARY:FINAL TRIPLE CONFERENCE
DESCRIPTION:The final TRIPLE conference focuses on the potential\, challenges and possibilities that arise out of these endeavors for Open Science in SSH and beyond. \nGoTriple is dedicated to addressing pressing challenges that Social Sciences and Humanities face: data and research results are scattered along the lines of various disciplines\, languages\, catalogues and repositories\, and collaboration – among researchers\, enterprises\, and citizens alike – is hindered. The service and its features are intended to soften and\, eventually\, overcome the borders that separate disciplines and researchers from each other. \nBy providing a multilingual vocabulary\, the creation of an open source API to enrich data and thereby offering an interdisciplinary\, multilingual discovery service\, GoTriple is intended to work as an intersection between various stakeholders in academia and society\, enhance the low visibility of SSH results and improve their impact. \nIf you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the TRIPLE team at triple@operas-eu.org \n>> Further info \n>> Registration

SUMMARY:EOSC Symposium 2022
DESCRIPTION:The EOSC Symposium is the main EOSC annual event and this year takes place in Prague\, Czech Republic\, from 14th-17th November 2022. \nOver 500 stakeholders from ministries\, policy makers\, research performing organisations\, service providers\, research infrastructures and research communities across Europe and beyond are expected to attend the Symposium to reflect on the EOSC key achievements and strategic challenges and to identify priorities and concrete actions at European\, national\, and institutional level to speed up the EOSC implementation. \nProgramme\nFor more information on plenary sessions\, project presentations & use cases\, please consult the event programme. Sessions will cover a variety of EOSC-related topics from FAIR to interoperability\, cross-disciplinary data sharing to infrastructure federation\, in addition to dedicated EOSC Future sessions. \nEOSC Tripartite Event at EOSC Symposium 2022\n15 November 9:30-12:30 CET \nThis session opens the EOSC Symposium 2022\, the main EOSC annual event. Last year\, the Council of the European Union defined the specific policy priorities of 2022-2024 for the establishment of the New European Research Area (ERA) as a “researchers-centred\, value-based\, excellence as well as impact-driven area\, in which researchers\, knowledge and technology are supported and can circulate freely.” The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) was highlighted as the key to facilitate the creation of ”a truly functioning internal market for knowledge” by enabling the open sharing of knowledge and the re-use of research outputs. By being the data space for science\, research and innovation\, EOSC is therefore the essential facilitator for the realisation of the European Data Strategy. In this session we will hear the perspectives of the European Commission and of the three countries hosting the presidency of the Council of the EU in 2022-2023 (France – Czechia – Sweden) \nThe session also presents the main achievements of the EOSC tripartite collaboration and the plans for 2023. In the session\, the new EOSC logo will be announced and the new Horizon Europe programme will be welcomed. \nAll Horizon Europe Partnerships must formulate a reference monitoring framework\, based on the general\, specific\, and operational objectives of their strategic agendas\, allowing the progress to be tracked\, towards achieving the specific Partnership goals. Such monitoring frameworks focus on Partnership-specific objectives and indicators\, while being comparable\, in terms of standards and methodology. The proposed frameworks are meant to allow for a low-burden assessment of the community achievements and their impact\, over time\, as well as the potential need for corrective measures. This session gives an overview of the achievements on Monitoring of EOSC and Open Science. \nVenue and accommodation\nThe Symposium will take place at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. For those interested in booking a room at the same venue\, please note that there are preferential rates available to Symposium participants under the following link. More information on the venue and accommodation here. \nSpread the word\nShare the #EOSCsymposium22 hashtag to build momentum through your network. \nIf you have any questions surrounding the Symposium\, you can reach out to symposium22@eoscfuture.eu. \nOfficial page
