SUMMARY:Unlocking the Value of Knowledge: ERA Symposium 2023
DESCRIPTION:We cordially invite you to join the first Austrian ERA Symposium\, taking place on 9 November 2023 in the Hotel Savoyen Vienna. \n  \nThis full-day on site event is dedicated to “Unlocking the Value of Knowledge“\, focussing on Open Science and Knowledge Valorisation\, two highly important\, topical areas in research and innovation policy. The event marks the launch of a new series of annual symposia in Austria addressing the new European Research Area (ERA). \nThe ERA symposium welcomes a broad range of actors from the Austrian science\, research and innovation community\, high-level European Commission representatives as well as interested guests from other ERA countries. The annual ERA symposia are part of the implementation of the Austrian National Action Plan for the ERA (2022-2025) which is based on the EU’s ERA Policy Agenda (2022-2024). \nThis year‘s ERA Symposium is organized in conjunction with the Tour des Capitales of the European Commission to promote the guiding principles of knowledge valorisation\, and with the Open Science Austria (OSA) Community Day. OSA is the Open Science Platform of the Universities Austria association (uniko). The event will thus provide an ideal opportunity for stakeholders from academia\, business and civil society to engage with two core initiatives of the Austrian ERA Action Plan: Open Science and Knowledge Valorisation. It will offer a forum for feedback on the first results of these initiatives and encourages suggestions for the next steps in their implementation. \nPlease find more information on the program and speakers in the symposium agenda . \nRepresentatives of the further ERA initiatives constituting the Austrian ERA Action plan are invited to present their activities in the poster area during the lunch break\, further stimulating a broad exchange. If you would be interested in contributing to the poster session\, kindly contact us by 25 October 2023. \nWe look forward to welcoming you to the symposium! \nFor questions on the ERA Symposium 2023 please contact us at era-symposium@ffg.at .

SUMMARY:Open Science Fair 2023
DESCRIPTION:Open Science Fair 2023 aims to bring together and empower open science communities and services; to identify common practices related to open science; to see what are the best synergies to deliver and operate services that work for many; and to bring experiences from all around the world and learn from each other. \nOSFair2023 is organized as an emblematic initiative of OpenAIRE. This year the event will be co-organized with FECYT\, from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation\, key European projects and global initiatives. \nOpen science (also referred to as open scholarship) is at a crossroads. Implementation and adoption are progressing\, with researchers\, research institutions\, funding agencies\, service providers and infrastructures all engaging at various levels. However\, different models are emerging which produce a seemingly fragmented ecosystem and achieve small steps on top of traditional scholarly communication system. In order to enable international and interdisciplinary research\, we need to ensure interoperability across communities and services while still maintaining our ability to support diversity of workflows and knowledge systems. \nwww.opensciencefair.eu

SUMMARY:RAISE Science Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The RAISE project is organizing a webinar entitled “RAISE Science Webinar: a transparent way of sharing and processing data” that will be held on July 13\, 2023\, at 11:00 am CET. \nThis online event will introduce stakeholders an initial mock-up of RAISE’s unique approach that brings the processing algorithm (small in size) directly to the dataset (large in size)\, instead of requiring the dataset to be downloaded to the computer where the algorithm is located. An initial demonstration using wireframes will be done. The current mock-up is an interactive version that demonstrates the basic functionalities of the Research Analysis Identifier (RAI) System. The navigation through basic features will help the participants understand better the system and\, also\, provide valuable insights for the improvement of user experience. \nThe goal of this webinar is to showcase the value of not only accessing data\, but also processing it conveniently. \n>> Agenda and registration
