The fourth meeting of the EOSC Federation Build-up Group will take place on 17–18 June 2025 in Kraków, Poland.

Hosted at the National Science Centre Poland (NCN), the event will be held in-person only. The meeting will serve as a platform for the first wave of organisations contributing to the build-up phase of the EOSC Federation to report updates, discuss ways of working, and identify scientific and infrastructure use cases to highlight during the early stages of the EOSC Federation.

The programme is planned as a 1.5-day meeting, starting at 09:00 on Tuesday, 17 June 2025 and concluding with a lunch at 13:00 on Wednesday, 18 June 2025. A networking dinner will be organised on the evening of the first day. The detailed agenda will be shared in mid-May, following its approval at the second meeting of the Group.

Registration

Participation is limited to members of the Build-up Group. Invited participants have received a password to access the registration page. Registration for the event will close on 4 June 2025 (23:59 CEST).

Travel arrangements

Participants are responsible for booking and covering the costs of their travel and accommodation. Recommended hotels are listed below. The organisers are negotiating preferential hotel rates, which will be posted here once finalised. Please check back regularly for updates.

From Kraków John Paul II Airport (KRK) to the City Center

Train

  • The SKA1 suburban train connects Kraków Airport with Kraków Główny (Main Railway Station). Trains depart every ~30 minutes and the journey takes about 17 minutes.

Bus

  • Public bus 300 runs between the airport and NCN. Travel time is around 35–40 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Please note that the bus ticket machines may only accept coins.

Taxi or ride-sharing

  • Taxis are available outside the terminal. You can also use Uber, Bolt, or FreeNow. All these services issue receipts automatically in their apps. Typical travel time to the city center is 20–25 minutes.

From the Kraków John Paul II Airport to NCN

Bus

  • Bus 300 connects the airport directly with Rondo Grunwaldzkie. From there, it’s a 3-minute walk to the National Science Centre (ul. Twardowskiego 16).
    The full journey takes about 35–40 minutes.
  • Tickets can be purchased from the machines at the station, on the bus or via a mobile city app (iMKA)
  • Please note that the bus ticket machines may only accept coins.

Ride-sharing or taxi

  • About 25 minutes depending on traffic. All ride services provide electronic receipts.

From Kraków Główny Railway Station to NCN

Tram

  • It is not recommended to take the tram due to major construction works on the way to NCN which might affect the ride time. More information will provided closer to the event.

Bus

  • Bus 179 connects Dworzec Główny with Rondo Grunwaldzkie. Please note that due to construction on the Most Dębnicki, the ride time may be longer than usual. More information will provided closer to the event.

  • Please note that the bus ticket machines may only accept coins.

Taxi / Ride-Sharing

  • Ride time is typically 10–15 minutes. Uber, Bolt, and FreeNow are all widely available and affordable in Kraków.

If you take tram or bus

The NCN headquarters is located approximately 300 meters from Rondo Grunwaldzkie, making it easily accessible on foot in about 3–5 minutes.​

Route:

  1. From Rondo Grunwaldzkie, head south along ul. Monte Cassino.
  2. After approximately 200 meters, turn left onto ul. Twardowskiego.
  3. Continue for about 100 meters; the National Science Centre will be on your right at ul. Twardowskiego 16.​
