Open Science becoming the new norm requires a strong cooperation between researchers\, research performing- and research funding organisations\, service providers and support organisations and governments on a national\, European\, and international scale.\nIn its role as the Mandated Organisation for the Netherlands in the EOSC Association\, SURF and the ministries OCW and EZK (EOSC Steering Board members)\, are hosting the EOSC National Tripartite Event on 11th April 2023 from 9:00-13:00 in Utrecht at the conference facility of SURF.\nThe talks and panel discussions will be delivered by representatives of the EC\, EOSC-Association\, EOSC- Steering Board\, ministries OCW/EZK\, research performing\, -funding and – service/support organisations.

SUMMARY:National Tripartite Event in Croatia
DESCRIPTION:Date: 30 March 2023\, 10:30-17:00 CEST \nThe Croatian EOSC national event will be held on March 30\, 2023. This whole-day event is organised by University Computing Centre SRCE\, which is a Mandated organisation in Croatia. The event aims to encourage and support coordination between policymakers\, research funding organisations\, research performing organisations\, service providers\, and the community in Open Science\, supporting the implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the National Open Science Cloud Initiative. \nIn the first session of the program\, representatives from the European Commission\, the EOSC Association\, the EOSC Management Board\, the Ministry of Science and Education\, and the mandated organisation will present the priorities and activities necessary for stronger implementation of EOSC. In the continuation of the program\, we will present examples of the best practices in Croatia in the field of open science from the perspectives of researchers\, financiers\, and policymakers\, as well as progress on the adoption of a national open science plan and the establishment of the Croatian Open Science Cloud. \nWe will end the tripartite event with the high-level panel “What Needs to Happen Next in Croatia” in which we will discuss the prerequisites and needs for strengthening open science and the implementation of EOSC in Croatia (at the level of national and institutional policies and legislation\, infrastructure\, education and practical applications in research). The participants are Antica Čulina\, a researcher at Ruđer Bošković Institute\, David Smith\, Director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute\, Dubravko Majetić\, Vice-rector for Science\, Research and Postgraduate Studies at the University of Zagreb\, and Lea Lazzarich\, director of University library Rijeka. The moderator of the panel will be Zoran Bekić\, advisor to the director of SRCE.

SUMMARY:National Tripartite Event Bulgaria
DESCRIPTION:The Tripartite Event Bulgaria took place in Sofia\, Bulgaria\, on 28 March 2023. \nThe Bulgarian Open Science Plan aims to maintain a trusted infrastructure for open science publications and data\, to create incentives for researchers\, to adopt the practices and to align the national and institutional policies. The other activities are promotion of the practices and fostering the new skills and competences. The Ministry of Education and Science together with the National Centre for Information and Documentation run a Bulgarian portal for open science. A number of research performing organisations in Bulgaria have signed a Memorandum for cooperation in the field of open science. \nThe EOSC Tripartite Event brought together all EU and national actors involved in open science policies and practices. The aim of the event was to introduce and raise the awareness of the RPO and RFO and to bring to the attention of the audience the last EOSC papers on the data literacy\, EOSC funding mechanisms and on the monitoring of EOSC implementation at all levels\, including awards and assessment. The event contributed to the national vision on EOSC policy and the institutional OS plans’ design and implementation. It was a platform for the researchers and research managers to meet the EOSC key actors and to discuss a combined efforts and expected benefits. \n>> Read the programme

SUMMARY:National Tripartite Event Hungary
DESCRIPTION:The National Research\, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) in cooperation with the European Commission and the EOSC Association is organising a tripartite event about the current policy achievements and support of Open Science in Hungary. The Hungarian mandated organisation to EOSC\, the Governmental Agency for IT Development – KIFÜ is supporting the organisation of the meeting. \nThe aim of the event is to present the current position on Open Science and EOSC in Hungary and to exchange opinions with officers of the EOSC Association and the European Commission on the support policies and best practices in this field. \nThe morning session will start with the NRDIO sharing some perspectives from Hungarian Science Policy and Funding. Then representatives from the EC DG Research and Innovation\, and EOSC Steering Board will present their views on the position of Open Science and the future of EOSC. The priorities and activities necessary for stronger implementation of EOSC will be presented by the EOSC Association\, while the mandated organisation KIFÜ will tell the audience about its activities in the field of Open Science and EOSC promotion until now. \nAfter the lunch break\, as a continuation of the event\, two panel sessions will take place. High level representatives from various research infrastructures have been invited to the first panel to discuss their views on how to best support Open Science and the creation and exchange of FAIR Data. This part will be moderated by KIFÜ. \nThe second panel discussion is dedicated to Open Science policies. It will be moderated by the EOSC Association and opinions from panel participants representing funders\, librarians and researches will be shared. \nThe event is expected to contribute to extending the position on Open Science in Hungary towards more specific actions regarding the European Open Science Cloud.

DESCRIPTION:8 March 2023\, 08:30 – 15.30 CET \nInvitation-only event \nThis half day event is being organised by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation and EOSC-A\, in collaboration with the Mandated Organization. \nThe main aim of the EOSC National Event Switzerland is to bring together representatives and activities of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) with Swiss stakeholders from science policy institutions\, funding agencies\, research performing organisations\, service and research infrastructure organisations\, in order to further intensify the dialogue on Open Science\, to exchange best practices and possibly to promote activities between stakeholders in the field of EOSC or Open Science in Switzerland. Moreover\, the event should contribute to discussing open questions in regard to the implementation of EOSC. \nThe event will be launched with a welcome speech by Martina Hirayama\, State Secretary of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education\, Research\, and Innovation\, SERI. The event will also feature a high-level discussion to explore the following question: “What is needed from which actors to spur Open Science in Europe and Switzerland?” Among the high-level-participants are Matthias Egger\, President of the National Research Council at the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF\, (pending) Martina Hirayama\, State Secretary of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education\, Research\, and Innovation\, SERI Jana Kolar\,Chair of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures\, ESFRI Karel Luyben\, President of the EOSC Association; Lucciana Vaccaro\, President of Swiss universities (pending) and Rector of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland\, HES-SO and Martin Vetterli\, President of the ORD Strategy Council and Rector of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne\, EPFL (pending). After the high-level discussion\, representatives of EOSC will take over the stage (Karel Luyben\, President of the EOSC Association and Ute Gunsenheimer\, Secretary General of the EOSC Association) and present the State of play of EOSC; there will also be showcases from researchers in Switzerland working in the implementation of EOSC. \nIn addition to representatives of EOSC\, the ORD Strategy Council\, Switzerland is also represented. SUMMARY:Spain and Portugal EOSC Tripartite Event
DESCRIPTION:Spain and Portugal have strong links in Research Infrastructures and especially in the e-Infrastructures. The setup of the IBERGRID initiative and the strong links on research networks have strengthened the collaboration among Spanish and Portuguese research institutions. This joint session on EOSC tries to build bridges between the Spanish and Portuguese research centres focused on the Open Science commons and will also serve to reinforce the national collaboration. \nThe workshop aims at showcasing success stories and best practices\, raising awareness of the EOSC concept\, sharing training opportunities and identifying collaborations and reinforcing the Spanish and Portuguese EOSC ecosystem\, especially focusing on the future opportunities in the frame of the HEU. \nThe workshop is open to researchers\, e-infrastructure providers\, Research Infrastructures centres and policy stakeholders in the frame of the EOSC. DESCRIPTION:DFHERIS invites members of the senior staff at RPOs\, RFOs\, Irish representatives of ERICs and ESFRI projects to participate in Ireland’s National Tripartite Event. \nThe event takes place on 28 September 2022 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants\, Pearse St\, Dublin and aims to support increased understanding of and collaboration between respective national and international EOSC (European Open Science Cloud) activities.
