SUMMARY:GA4GH 13th Plenary
DESCRIPTION:GA4GH 13th Plenary brings together organisations and initiatives from the genomics and health community for keynotes\, talks\, and workshops. The conference will focus on genomic and clinical data sharing issues that pervade diverse industries\, disciplines\, and communities. GA4GH 13th Plenary is generously co-hosted by SciLifeLab\, a collaborative effort between Swedish universities that aims to build a national research infrastructure to advance life science research. \n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n\n6 to 7 October 2025: 13th Plenary meeting\n\nThe global genomics community comes together to learn about and discuss challenges and opportunities in data sharing and interoperability\n\n\n8 to 10 October 2025: Connect working sessions\n\nGA4GH active contributors work to advance standards and policy frameworks for genomic and health data sharing\n\n\n\n\nRegistration details \n\n\n\nPlease see below for information on in-person Plenary registration fees. Virtual participation for the meeting is free. \nIn order to ensure the financial sustainability of the GA4GH Plenary meetings\, new registration tiers have been introduced. There is a guidance document to help you determine which registration category is relevant. Active contributors\, confirmed through responses to the GA4GH annual Inclusivity and Impact Survey\, will have discounted registration fees. \nThe last day to cancel with a 75% refund is 1 September 2025. \nIn-person registration will close on 22 September 2025. SUMMARY:Open Science Conference 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Open Science Conference is an annual international conference dedicated to the Open Science movement. It provides a unique forum for researchers\, data stewards\, librarians\, practitioners\, infrastructure providers\, policy makers\, and other important stakeholders to discuss the latest and future developments in Open Science. In 2025\, the conference returns to its roots and takes place as a face-to-face event in Hamburg again. \n  \nThis year’s conference will have a special focus on the intersection between Open Science and AI. The rapid integration of artificial intelligence and corresponding tools into scientific research poses both new challenges but also opportunities for Open Science practices. This requires a reflection on how this can be aligned with transparency\, accessibility\, reproducibility\, and reusability as core principles of Open Science. \nThe Open Science Conference is hosted by the Leibniz Strategy Forum Open Science and organised under the lead of the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics.

SUMMARY:European Open Science Cloud and Switzerland’s role
DESCRIPTION:A newly launched national collaborative effort to design and test a prototype framework unifying Swiss research data services in alignment with EOSC\, SENPro is inviting the research community to an online event dedicated to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and how Switzerland shapes and engages with the initiative on 9 October 2025\, 9:30–13:00. \nCreating an EOSC Federation of Nodes is pivotal for a Europe advancing towards an interconnected ecosystem of data repositories and services. Not only will it enable Open Science to thrive\, but also reduce fragmentation in the national landscape and promote long-term sustainability. By developing SENPro\, Switzerland seeks to strengthen its contribution to the European Open Science movement. \nEOSC’s broader vision is to establish a FAIR framework for its research data and services on an interdisciplinary as well as supranational level. Aiming to empower researchers\, EOSC supports them in the goal of handling knowledge in a holistic process from storage to reuse. \nDuring the event\, the consortium will elaborate on: \n\n\nA comprehensive overview of EOSC’s vision and how research and innovation benefits from it.\nSENPro’s mission to reduce fragmentation\, support interdisciplinary cooperation\, and co-determine the development of Swiss research data services.\nHow to take part and connect with the community.
