SUMMARY:Horizon Europe Research Infrastructures info day
DESCRIPTION:The info day will focus on the 2025 calls of the Horizon Europe Research Infrastructures work programme 2025\, for its main destinations. \nFirst\, INFRADEV\, which aims to develop\, consolidate and optimise the European research infrastructures landscape\, and maintain global leadership. \nSecond\, INFRAEOSC\, with the objective to enable an operational\, open and FAIR European Open Science Cloud ecosystem. \nThird\, INFRASERV\, with the objective to support transnational access to state-of-the-art facilities for researchers\, relevant for a large research domain or in support of societal challenge and EU priorities. \nFourth\, INFRATECH\, aiming to contribute at developing the next generation of scientific instrumentation\, tools\, methods\, and advanced digital solutions for Research Infrastructures. \nThe info day will also offer horizontal information on the submission\, evaluation and management of the 2025 Research Infrastructures calls. In addition\, the Q&A sessions will give participants the opportunity to ask any remaining questions. \nThe Info Day will take place on 19 May 2025 and will be online only. \nThe programme and more details on how to participate will be made available shortly on this page. \nDocuments\n\nHorizon Europe strategic plan\nHorizon Europe Programme Guide\n\nPast info days\n\nNovember 2023\n\n\nContact\nAny questions? SUMMARY:Skills4EOSC Digital Collections Curators Training
DESCRIPTION:Under the framework of the Skills4EOSC Horizon Europe Project\, this training aims to promote the establishment of Open Science (OS) skills and practices in Research Data Management (RDM) of digital scientific collections. Expected participants are data stewards/curators/scientists and RDM leaders and/or trainers working on the digital transformation of collection-holding institutions\, such as libraries\, archives\, museums and universities (among others). \nThis event will provide an opportunity to gain general knowledge about OS and the importance of its use in the management of digital data from collections of different research fields through lessons and case studies. We also hope that it will serve as a platform for us to connect as a community and establish enriching contacts that can help us to settle these practices in a sustainable and long-term manner. \n\nRegistration: Skills4EOSC Courses Registration Form – select the course “Open Science Skills for Digital Collections Curators (From 19/05 to 20/05)”\nRegistration closes on 12.05.2025\n\nA more detailed overview of the training course and information about all Skills4EOSC training courses can be found in the documents attached. Feel free to also disseminate this information to potential interested people in your community/network!

SUMMARY:Secondary Publication Rights for research. What are the options to openly publish your research?
DESCRIPTION:Across Europe\, researchers may have the legal right to make their work openly accessible – even if published behind a paywall – thanks to Secondary Publication Rights (SPRs). Yet many are unaware of this right or unsure how to take advantage of it. \nJoin us at an online event on Monday 19 May at 10-12 CEST to learn how SPRs work and how these rights are implemented in Europe (in Germany\, France\, the Netherlands\, Belgium\, Austria\, and Bulgaria). Hear real-world experiences from researchers and librarians and explore how SPRs can support open science and increase the visibility of your work. \nThe event is open to all but particularly designed for researchers\, and the university professionals who support them\, including librarians\, repository managers\, and research administrators. \nOrganised by INSPIRING ERA in collaboration with the IP4OS project as part of a series of online events to support the implementation of the European Research Area (ERA) Policy Agenda. \nProgramme \nWelcome from the INSPIRING ERA project \nSetting the scene – How secondary publication right is being addressed in the ERA Policy Agenda\nBertil Egger Beck\, Policy Officer at the European Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. \nKeynote presentation:\n– what are SPRs and their purpose\, how do they benefit researchers?\n– Overview of SPR legislation in Germany\, France\, Netherlands\, Belgium\, Austria\, and Bulgaria and how the rules have been implemented at research performing organisations\, including the expansion of open access repositories.\n– Potential for EU-wide SPR \nMartin Senftleben\, Professor of Intellectual Property Law\, University of Amsterdam and Caterina Sganga\, Professor of Comparative Private Law\, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna\, both authors of Towards a European Research Freedom Act: A Proposal for an EU-wide Secondary Publication Right \nQ&A \nPerspectives from Member States\nDr Christopher Karmann\, Federal Ministry of Education and Research\, Germany (video message) \nYanita Zherkova\, Head of Unit\, Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science and Ana Lazarova\, Sofia University \nModerated Panel discussion featuring experiences and perspectives from: \n\nStephen Wyper\, Director of External Affairs\, IFLA (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions)\nFrantzeska Papadopoulou Skarp\, Professor of private law\, Chair of Intellectual Property Law\, Stockholm University Sweden\nBernhard Schubert\, Deputy Head of the Open Access Office\, Research and Publication Services\, University of Vienna\, Austria\nModerator – Vanessa-Ariane Guzek Hernando\, Miller International Knowledge\, Legal and Policy Director for.
