Additional Activities: Planning and reporting

Additional Activities are defined as the in-kind or financial contribution from EOSC Association members towards the objectives described by the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). These activities must NOT be covered by European Union funding (except for EC Structural Funds).

Assessing the volume of resources committed and/or spent towards additional activities, on a yearly basis, is a duty to which all EOSC Association members have signed up to. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the members of the Association have committed to deliver a volume of additional activities totalling to  €500M, over the duration of the EOSC Partnership (until the end of 2030), at a minimum.

Contributions of EOSC Association Members to Additional Activities are subject to continuous monitoring and periodic reporting. The Association is committed to establish every year an “Additional Activities Plan” (AAP), which is subsequently approved by the Partnership Board, and to report annually on previously agreed and provided contributions. According to the EC requirements, for all co-programmed Horizon Europe Partnerships, EOSC Members’ additional activities will be monitored, reported, and presented in nine categories:

AAP 2022 Survey

The first online AAP Survey will be launched in January 2022 and addressed to all the Members of the AssociationThe objective of this survey is to estimate budget provisions by EOSC Association Members to additional activities in 2022, as well as to monitor the actual spending of 2021. The results will be the basis for the “Additional Activities Plan 2022”, and for the “ Reporting on the additional Activities Plan 2021” with the aim to steer R&I investments towards achieving the Partnership's objectives.

To support the members complying with the monitoring and reporting of their Additional Activities, the EOSC Association is organising a dedicated training workshop between 25 and 27 January 2022. The workshop will be repeated three times, across 25-27 January 2022, always between 09:00-10:00 am (CET), to provide all members with an opportunity to benefit from the training. The content of the workshops will always be the same throughout the three slots, so attending one is sufficient. A detailed agenda will be only available for registered member participants.
